We stock a wide range of pond products to help you build and maintain a great centrepiece to your garden. Here's a quick tour round the shop and our range of pond products.
A pond can be a great centrepiece to your garden and we stock both pre-formed plastic ponds as well as pond liners if you want to design the size and shape of the pond yourself. The pre-formed ponds come in a range of sizes to suit all sizes and shapes of garden.
The type of fish in your pond will depend upon the size of the pond. We stock a number of different pond fish in our 8 pond units suitable for the varying environments such as goldfish, shubunkins, orfe, tench, carp and koi. Anyone from the team at Weald will be happy to advise you on the sort of fish suitable for your pond.
Waterfalls and Fountains
A waterfall and/or fountain will add to the beauty of your pond as well as keeping the water moving and thus helping with the oxygenation of the water. Naturally these come in different shapes and sizes. The resin waterfalls look very realistic and have an almost natural appearance and the fountains have different heads to give varying spray effects.
If you want to create a pond to our own design then you'll need to line it with a proper resilient pond liner. We stock various sizes suitable for all shapes and sizes of pond and they can even be combined if you want a very large pond.
A good diet will help to keep your pond fish healthy and happy. We stock a wide range of pond food in both pellet and flake form for all types of pond fish and in various size packs suitable for any size and shape of pond.
Test kits are available to test your pond water for things such as pH, ammonia, nitrite and phosphate. Individual test kits are available or you can buy a combined test kit that will test for all of the different conditions.
As with the rest of your garden, the plants you put in your pond will be a personal choice. Plants come in four types: marginals, deep water marginals, lilies and floating plants. Planting will help greatly in oxygenating the pond and keeping the water clear. We pride ourselves on the quality of pond plants that we stock.
Specially formulated for pond plants, our bags of aquatic soil are available in various sizes. The soil contains added grit to give weight and stability and is also low in nitrogen to reduce algae growth.
Pond gravel is used for decorative purposes on pond plants and to help hold the soil in place within the plant basket. It should not be used at the bottom of a pond as it can collect debris making the pond difficult to clean. Gravel comes in varying fragment sizes and bag sizes.
Pond filters are important when your pond has a large population of fish as it will remove the waste products from the water and help to keep the water clear. The size of filter required will depend upon the size of your pond and we will be happy to advise you of the best filter for your requirements.
The filter media are the materials that go inside the filter to provide the physical, biological and chemical filtration. These include sponges, carbon and bio-media. They will collect the waste from the pond water so it's important to clean and/or replace these regularly.
A pond heater is a good idea if you want to keep your pond free of ice during the winter. It will allow oxygen to enter the pond and circulate as well as allowing gases created by rotting debris to escape from the pond. More importantly it will help to keep your fish alive through the winter months.
