From beginner to serious enthusiast

We have aquariums to suit everybody. The display aquariums in our shop cover the full range from beginner to enthusiast and cater for different budgets. Below we describe each one and there's also a video of each so you can see exactly how it looks. We even give you an idea of the sort of price range you would expect to pay to set up such an aquarium including fish, any plants, substrates, filters, accessories and so on.

Of course, to really appreciate our display aquariums, nothing beats coming into the shop and seeing them for yourself. Oh, and you won't get any hard sell from the team at Weald - just free, friendly advice.


Peppa Pig aquarium

A great starter aquarium for kids

The aquarium comes with plastic hood, Tetra Crystal internal power filter, 2 x Crystal filter cartridges, a small pot of Tetramin complete flake food, a bottle of Tetra Aquasafe to treat fresh water, a Peppa pig guide to keeping fish, Peppa pig background poster and a selection of Peppa Pig stickers to decorate the outside of your aquarium.

We have also fitted a compact LED light unit into the lid.

30 litre BiOrb spherical aquarium

A stylish bowl aquarium for those who want something a little different

The BiOrbs come with special ceramic media. This is integral to how the filtration works. It has a massive surface area to encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria to aid in the biological breakdown of waste.

Lighting is a plain white LED.

Equipment

The aquarium comes with a low-voltage LED bar that runs the length of the aquarium.

There is a glass lid that covers the aquarium, which has three access holes for ease of feeding.

Complete 3-stage filtration combining biological, chemical and mechanical filtration for complete water clarity. All the equipment is hidden in an integrated compartment in the back of the aquarium.

A 55-watt heater with built in thermostat to maintain water temperature.

We have also fitted a small air pump to run a small air ornament and bubble curtain in two sections. Not only does this make the tank look more interesting but also increases water circulation and oxygenation for the aquarium.

Equipment The Aquael tank has two specialist marine lights, one white and one blue. Also an external filter and nano heater.

Anything else? The live rock within this system also aids filtration and helps maintain good water quality. The lighting is perfect for growing soft corals.

Lido 200 marine reef aquarium

A complete setup for marine fish and invertebrates

Fish 2 clownfish, 2 green chromis, 8 humbug damsels, 1 pyjama wrasse and 2 hermit crab.
Plants / coral Assorted soft coral.
Equipment The tank is a Juwel 200 and it has twin lighting (T5), one marine white bulb and one marine blue bulb, an internal pump and filter and a heater. We have fitted reflectors to the bulbs to increase the light output. We have also added an Ecco Pro 300 external filter and a NWA 1.6 powerhead for extra circulation. In addition we have fitted a Juwel protein skimmer to the aquarium.
Substrates Marine sand.
Anything else? For a complete soft coral reef setup that allows for a huge variety of fish and invertebrates, this is an ideal setup.

Rio 400 cichlid aquarium

A stunning large volume aquarium for African cichlids

Fish Assorted Peacocks and Haplochromis, Labidochromis Parrot fish and Clown Loach.
Plants We have added Cryptocoryne Balansae. It is a large, robust plant that can tolerate the cichlids' tendency to eat most plants. Plastic plants are a great option for customers who still want to see plants with their cichlids, or add more colour to the overall look of the aquarium.
Equipment The tank has four lights, internal filter and heater. We have fitted two external filters (Ecco 200 and Nexx filter), an internal 2,500 litres/hr powerhead and an extra air pump.
Substrates Sand. Plus we have added 50kg of grey mountain stone.
Anything else? Due to the nature of these fish, they need to be stocked heavily so the extra filtration is essential.

Oak open-top reef aquarium

A stunning centrepiece to any room

Fish This reef system contains a large selection of Soft Corals and other invertebrates including Hermit crabs, Turbo Snails, Sand sifting starfish and Anemone Tubeworms. It also has a Yellow Sailfin Tang, Flame Angelfish, 3 Female Anthias, 8 Yellow tail Blue Damselfish, a Percula Clownfish, Spotted Hawkfish and a green File fish.
Plants A mixture of crypts, moss balls, red rosefolia and hygrophila.
Equipment

The aquarium comes with sump and plumping. In the sump we have fitted a filter sock and holder, 200-watt heater, a TMC V2 Protein Skimmer and an Ehiem Compact 5000 circulation pump.

The filtration media consists of a set of three sponges ranging in coarseness, and 4 litres of Eheim substrate pro for maximum biological filtration.

We have also fitted an Eheim powerhead in the aquarium for extra circulation and a spray bar on the return pipe to increase water flow.

We have fitted a Sanrise LED unit above the aquarium for maximum light output.

Substrates We have used TMC coarse coral sand as our substrate to aid biological filtration.
Cost The cost of this aquarium is around £1,700
Including all of the livestock the aquarium setup would cost £3,500
